Pratyangiraa Devi, is one of the forms of Paarvathi (Aadiparaashakthi) and mostly worshipped for protection from black magic and evil entities. Sri Pratyangiraa Devi came to calm Sharabheshwara, there by preventing the destruction of the world. Sri Pratyangiraa Devi temple is located in Dattaatreya Swamy Temple in Nanjangud.
Vishesha Abhisheka is performed on ashtami, dashami and chaturdashi days. If these days fall on Sundays, abhisheka to Pratyangiraa devi will be done in raahukaala just prior to the abhisheka of Sharabheshwara.
Pratyangiraa Homa / Havan is performed on every amaavasya (New Moon Day) in this temple premises which begins at 5:30pm. Large number of devotees from many places participate in this homa / havan. The aim of the havan is for protection and prosperity of the good people.
Please do not bring salt and red chillies to the Homa (havan). A pinch of salt will be provided by the temple. The red chillies which are broken, will not be used for the Homa, so please do not bring red chillies.
